*Prairie Howard the Horse

Howard is unique in MANY ways. The first thing you might notice is his unusual appearance, color and extreme curly traits. But to the descerning eye, this boy offers a whole lot more. I'm of a mind to present Howard in all his "ugly duckling-Ness" because his owner is going to have to be special through and through.  His personality more than makes up for what he lacks in prettiness ;) To appreciate all of Howards amazing gifts, you would probably have to see him in person, but I will do my best to explain him to you. (A recent visitor referred to Howard as a "love bug.")

Howard has great movement and is very athletic. Howard is a character and is EXTREMELY smart.  He had my dad rolling on the floor laughing with his antics in the round pen.  If you have a great sense of humor.....this is the horse for you.

This boy needs a job to keep his mind busy......I have no doubt that he could be a trick horse. Also, because of his love for people, unflappable deameanor and ability to make people smile, I believe he would be a great candidate for Therapeutic riding.

Howard started his saddle training last summer and was trying to convince us that he had been doing it his ENTIRE life because nothing fazed him! We decided to see what he would do on his very first ride because he was being so good so we asked him to leave the yard (all by himself)....no problem, asked him to turn and go into the field.....no problem, continue in a straight line away from your home.....no problem, stop and turn around......no problem, go towards home......problem (he wanted to keep going.....he was not ready for it to be done so quickly!). He just stood there for a few minutes....not bad but just seeing if that was an option then when we asked again home he came. So typical of what we have come to expect from our Curlies.

So, if you would like a little personality & fun in your backyard, Howard might just be the curly for you.
